Crowns & Bridges in Belton, MO
Some of our most common dental restorations are intended to make repairs to your existing teeth or replace those that are missing so that you can chew and speak properly. Having damaged or missing teeth can cause physical discomfort and cause you to feel self-conscious. Fortunately, at Pacific Plains Dental, we focus on solutions.
Custom Dental Crowns
If you have a cracked tooth, you might need a dental crown to protect it. Dental crowns can help strengthen and protect a tooth that has fractured, has a large filling, or has had root canal treatment. We can also use them to improve the appearance of your teeth, restore your bite, and repair worn-down teeth.
Placement of a crown usually involves at least two appointments. During the first appointment, we prepare your tooth for your crown. Dr. Ian Kuklenski will take a special impression, or mold, of your tooth to create your custom-made crown. Your crown will fit over top of your remaining tooth structure, absorbing the force from chewing. We will make a temporary crown to hold you over and keep your tooth stable until it receives your beautiful custom crown.
At your second appointment, we will adjust your crown and permanently seal it onto your tooth to ensure a perfect fit and function.
We offer several different types of crowns such as porcelain, metal, gold, and a blend of porcelain and metal. Each type of crown has benefits that Dr. Kuklenski would be happy to explain to you when we discuss your treatment plan. No matter which material is used, you will receive a custom-made crown that will restore your tooth to its original form and function with improved strength and appearance.
Quality Dental Bridges
Bridges can restore your smile if you are missing one or more teeth. They work by placing crowns on the teeth adjacent to your missing tooth. We suspend artificial teeth (pontics) between special abutment crowns to “bridge” the gap in your smile. Dental bridges also support your adjacent teeth and prevent them from drifting toward the gap in your smile.
In some situations, we can place these supporting crowns on dental implants, creating a long-lasting solution for your missing teeth. Dental implants not only replace missing teeth but also help to retain your jawbone structure. Your teeth and jaws depend on one another for support. Dental implants provide adequate support, helping you to retain your bone and facial structure.
